Crestwood Elementary School Parent/Family Involvement Plan

School Mission:
The mission of Crestwood school is to inspire all students to become curious, caring, and confident learners.  

Crestwood Elementary recognizes that a child’s education is a responsibility shared by the school and family during the entire period the child spends in school. Our goal is to help all students succeed. 

General Expectations:

Crestwood will provide programs, activities, and procedures that involve all families.
  • Send survey at the beginning of the year to determine parents needs, available dates and times that are convenient for further meetings, development and input.
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Family Movie Night
  • Room Parents
  • Science Night
  • Ice Cream Social
  • Fundraising Events
  • Literacy on the Lawn
  • Parent Workshops on standards or Presentations (TBD based on survey)
  • Author’s Visits
  • Guest Speakers at PTO Meetings (encourage parents to arrange speakers, and school can provide possible resources)
  • Stakeholder Meeting

Crestwood will coordinate and continuously communicate with families.
  • Curriculum information available on district website
  • Publish a Newsletter
  • Send Emails
  • Send Resources in Book Bags
  • When possible, utilize translator
  • Post information on Website and Facebook
  • Telephone/voicemail
  • Publish Documents in parent’s native language
  • Principal’s Blog
